Stamford's first ever match in the FA Cup came about during the 1912-13 competition, when they were drawn away at Bedford. The Daniels exited the competition at the first attempt, with 1-5 being the final score.
The following season saw Stamford have their most successul run ever in the competition. The Daniels reached the Fifth Quailfying Round before losing out 0-2 at Chatham. Chatham's reward was a trip to reigning First Division Champions Sunderland, with the Football League giants winning by the small matter of 9-0.
Season 1919-20 saw Stamford lost twice in the same season in the FA Cup. The Daniels lost by the only goal of the match in the First Qualifying Round away at Brotherhoods Works. However, Stamford were then reinstated after the Peterborough based side were expelled from the competition. Stamford then went on to lose 0-2 at Kettering in the next round, thereby playing two matches in the competition that season, losing both without scoring a goal.
A very much unwanted club record was created during the 1927-28 competition when Stamford suffered a record defeat, losing 0-17 at Rothwell Town. Amazingly, this was a replay, with the sides having shared four goals a few days previously. This is a record FA Cup replay win still to this day.
